PLEASE NOTE: THIS YEAR'S BASH WILL BE HELD AT THE 4H FAIRGROUNDS!!!
When will the store and registration be open? Registration is open! Early bird rates will close at midnight, May 1. All registration sales will close at midnight, June 1.
Do I have to register? No. However, this allows us to plan accordingly for the number of participants. Please register through our store.
Do I have to pay for registration? It is FREE to attend the Berkshire Geobash. However, if you want BGB memorabilia it is recommended that you register prior to the event. As always, please SIGN the OFFICIAL log book.
Why would I want to pay for one of the registration levels? It helps the organizers of the event by allowing us a revenue stream prior to the event so we can pay for swag and facilities. Another benefit is you are guaranteed swag, even if the store sells out.
Can I make a donation to help fund the Berkshire Geobash? Yes. All donations go directly into planning and having the BGB. Click here: Donate to the BGB
Will there be free parking at the event? Yes. The parking lot is an uneven grass surface, on premises. It is difficult but doable with a wheelchair or stroller.
Are pets allowed at the Berkshire Geobash? Yes. As long as they are on a leash. Please pick up after your pet.
How can I sign up to volunteer? Please sign up on our website. Click here to sign up. Please note that this is only to inform us that you are available. We will organize the needs and get in contact with you before the day of the BGB.
Will there be food at the event? Yes. The 4H fairgrounds will be offering breakfast and lunch with a variety of foods (including fried dough!!!) There is NO BBQ luncheon. Feel free to pack a lunch, however, 100% of the food purchases will stay with the 4H Club!!!
Will there be lab caches? Yes. There will be 2 sets of 10 lab caches published for 10 days surrounding the BGB.
Are there any celebrities coming to BGB? We have secured SIGNAL for the whole week! Also, we are hoping a Lackey from Seattle, WA will be in attendance.
When is the cut-off for registration? Prices will go up on MAY 1, 2018 and ENDS JUNE 1, 2018. This allows us time to order the inventory we need.
Where can I stay? There are many places to camp or rent. Expect higher prices for hotels as the Berkshires is a destination place for vacations during the summer. Here is a great website for local places to stay and eat. Berkshires.org
What is the geocaching like in the Berkshires? We have over 1,000 in the county with more being published all the time. We have really hard ones and really easy ones. Lots of hiking (and bugs so bring your spray!) We have some that are underwater and some that are in the middle of nowhere with a multi-mile hike. We have a wide variety ready for you to find! Check out some of the lonely caches and the top favorites under the “Local Info” tab.
What about satellite events? Starting on July 13th we will have 1-3 events and "activities" daily bringing you to a wide variety of places in the Berkshires. EVERY place that we will be having an event is locally owned. We are proud to bring fellow cachers to the locals who support us and the economy in which we live. There is a schedule under the “Upcoming Events” tab.
What should I bring? Bug spray, Tick spray, Suntan lotion and be ready for any type of weather. It can be really sunny and hot or rainy and cold. As we say in the Berkshires: If you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes! Don't forget your GPSr. We will have vendors including the BGB store with inventory on hand.
Do I have to be present for the raffles? All raffles will be drawn and announced no earlier than 3:30pm. If you are a winner you must be present (or have a friend with your tickets) and must be claimed by 5pm. The winner of the 50/50 can be mailed.
